I know I know i've been posting about this ame on every board i'm at .... so why not here? heheheheeh anyway....seems great. i'm looking forward for this game ^^ can't wait Should come out in January, Japan-speaking -_- www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/ruleofrose/ official site : www.playstation.jp/scej/title/ror/Rule of Rose is a new survival horror/adventure game from SCEJ, with quite a disturbing theme. You take the role of a young girl in england in the 1930s, who is lured to a specific house by a boy who only she can see. He gives her a book of disturbing fairly tales, which by degrees come to a sort of life in this house. The house is occupied by other young girls who simply want to be loved, but through their naive innocence create a rather horrid lord of the flies-like environment, from which the heroine wishes to escape.
Gameplay is similar to Demento/Haunting Ground, in that a dog helps you through, and there's more emphasis on discovery and the 'adventure' aspect (ala Siren), in order to unravel the story. The game may not hit the states, given the rather disturbing, and sometimes psuedo-erotic content. Take a look at a promo movie here, though be aware that while there's no nudity, it's not necessarily something you'd want your boss/teacher/whatever to see you watching. Worth a look, it's quite beautiful, in a horrible way. The game is due out January 19th, and there's been very little info about the game released, oddly enough. (from www.insertcredit.com/ )

I managed to download the trailer (AT LAST)! It sounds pretty good! The pseudo-erotic scenes are kind of weird, but I'll wait for the release to check it out... taken out of the trailer, the scenes do not make much sense.... ??

This is a translation of the System section from the main site.
FOUNDATION
She was trapped inside a flying airship that had taken off the ground. Forced to promise to abide by the rules of the society, Jennifer is able to freely roam inside. While searching for the "gift" for the girls, in order to escape from this place, she must decide what to do, and find out where she should go next.
Jennifer Jennifer is a very weak woman. It's not that she has a strong arm either. By acquiring what could be weapons from inside the ship and parterning up with Brown, she may barely be able to sustain herself. However, in this world, you cannot escape just by being strong. What you need more than anything is your insight to try and solve this game. Solve the mystery through Jennifer's experience.
Brown If Brown becomes your companion, you can give it many orders. Using Brown's sense of smell, he can "FIND" new items, locations and people by following the smell. Also, you can order him to threaten the mysterious enemies.
Jennifer's Blackboard The collected items are all drawn onto this board. Item equipments and ordering Brown to find objects that you wish him to find and can be indicated here. Also, you can check on the physical situation of Jennifer and Brown.
The Knight of the Bucket The knight of the bucket strikes a conversation with Jennifer. He is "the person who keeps an important promise" that helps Jennifer. If you talk to him, he will tell you what Jennifer needs to accomplish at the moment. Also, he is the game's data save point.
BATTLE
When entities appear that block Jennifer's way, not only do you have the option to fight, but you can also run away from your current location, or work with Brown to get through.
Jennifer's Weapons In order to protect her body, you must decide in advance to first find something that can be a weapon and feel comfortable using it. The scary fairies that come to attack Jennifer will attack her with weapons, or cling onto her and drain her health. Shrug them off, and think about how to progress beforehand.
-Fork- You can acquire it in the very beginning. It is a weapon which you can feel safer than being empty handed.
-Steel pipe- The bent steel pipe has a wide attack range, and the pressing fairies will stop approaching.
-Prisoner's Icepick- The attack range is short, but the attack power of the sharp pick is higher than that of the steel pipe.
-Shovel- Having been used, its blade has become sharp and can be used as an unexpected weapon.
Cooperation with Brown When you are together with Brown, by making him growl at the enemy, you can make it stop. While the FIND option is unselected, if you order him to "GO" he will begin to threaten the closest enemy. When you are surrounded by many fairies, this will enable you to create a pathway to escape.
The Little People The scary fairies that appear seemingly blocking Jennifer's way. They seem to have jumped out from a picture book and you can never tell when and where they will appear.
ITEM & EVENT
In order to escape from this world, it is important to get to know the world first. By roaming around the ship, you will converse with the children and on the way, you will piece together many items that you may acquire to figure out hints for escape.
Event Jennifer will encounter children here and there within the ship, where some girls will turn their noses up against adult Jennifer, and there will be some children who speak of premonitions, among others. However, the words they say may have a hint hidden for the next event. It will also be important to listen to the dialog of the children.
Item Inside the ship, you may acquire what could be weapons or food, which will recover your health. Other than that, there are many items that are hidden which are keys to solving the mystery of this world. Not only should you use Brown's sense of smell to find things, but you should cautiously examine shelves and walls.
-Small bone- Food to recover Brown's strength. Jennifer recovers through biscuits and candy.
-Newspaper- In the newspaper article found on the shelf, the situation at the time had been recorded. By knowing the background of the era, you will be able to understand the situation that Jennifer is in.
-Picture book- This has become the cause of her being lost in this world. The contents in the picture book is sad and brutal. And it seems like it is hinting at her fate.
-Scribblings- On the walls within the ship are as many scribblings that you can find that contain the children's plans and those which may be evidences.
-Perfume- If you order Brown to find a certain item, you can find this perfume. You can offer it to the gift box.

I finally got this game some weeks ago but not got too much into that. Loading times are extremely annoying and unjustified , it breaks any atmosphere so I was really disappointed by this.
Anyway, I still think I like the game itself, even if I abandoned it as soon as I got Kingdom HEarts 2. Anyone willing to share their opinion?
